Commonwealth was honored to recently join the American Veterans Archaeological Recovery (AVAR), the National Park Service – Northeast Region, and the American Battlefield Trust to assist veterans for a new archaeological project at the Saratoga National Historical Park. The multi-week project includes fieldwork, lab work, and assistance from various experts to help veterans #dighistory by determining Revolutionary War-era troop locations during the 1777 battle. The project allows veterans to put their military knowledge and newly acquired archaeological skills to work by conducting fieldwork at the famous battlefield, while helping them transition back into civilian life. The project has received a tremendous outpouring of attention and support both on social media and within local media outlets (listed below).
