Earlier this month, the Midwest Archaeological Conference (MAC), in cooperation with the University of Notre Dame (UND) Press, announced the inauguration of a dissertation competition, with a $500 cash award and a contract to publish a modified version of the dissertation as a book through UND Press. Rick Edwards, Project Archaeologist at Commonwealth Heritage Group, Inc., was one of the few selected to receive the award.
